Primary Job Duties:

The Construction Foreman is responsible for coordinating operations and overseeing workers at construction sites throughout the lakes area. As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person from the induction phase to the completion of a project.

Located in Detroit Lakes, MN., we are currently looking for a Construction Foreman to join our team. The Construction Foreman is responsible for coordinating operations and overseeing workers at construction sites throughout the lakes area. As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person from the induction phase to the completion of a project.

Education or Skills:

  • Proven experience as construction foreman
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines
  • Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • High mathematical aptitude
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work extended hours performing physically demanding work
  • High school diploma required, but a degree in a skilled trade is preferred

Secondary Job Duties:

The Foreman will be required to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet client demands and must have the ability to travel with overnight stays possible.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
  • Resolve issues when they arise
